A rare Las Vegas snow storm that swept through Southern Nevada has cripped the city. The 3.6 inches of snow that was received is the most snow in Las Vegas in almost 30 years. The local weather service has said the storm is "the eighth greatest snowstorm ever in official Las Vegas weather records for any month." Outgoing flights at Las Vegas' McCarran have been grounded because of the snowfall and poor visibility and incoming flights have been canceled, because the airport doesn't have snow removal or de-icing equipment. This is expected to improve by mid-Thursday. Some school districts have closed schools for the day. Partly sunny skies are expected Friday so the Las Vegas snow should clear up soon.
