Microsoft will announce the availability of Internet Explorer 8 today at the MIX09 conference in Las Vegas. "Customers have made clear what they want in a Web browser -- safety, speed and greater ease of use," said Steve Ballmer, chief executive of Microsoft, in a statement. "With Internet Explorer 8, we are delivering a browser that gets people to the information they need, fast, and provides protection that no other browser can match." New features in Internet Explorer 8 include right-clicking on addresses to go straight to other options, ability to set keywords to recall sites related to that word, and improved security protection against malware. The Internet Explorer 8 download will be available at http://www.microsoft.com/ie8 starting at noon, eastern standard time, for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows Server in 25 different languages.
